We've split the world into two price zones.
- Europe (Zone 1)
- Rest of the World (Zone 2)
New pricing from 15 June 2010
- Europe: £1 for each MB up to 5MB, then £5 for every 5MB after that
- Rest of the world: £3 for each MB up to 5MB, then £15 for every 5MB after that
The countries in each zone may change from time to time - please check before you travel.
How will I know when I reach my limit?
We'll keep an eye on things for you. As you get close to every 5MB step, we'll send you a free text alert so you can keep in control of your costs.
Data roaming spending cap in Europe
From 1 July, all our customers will be automatically opted in to a data roaming spend cap of 50 euros (ex VAT), which is equivalent to about £42, in a monthly billing period to help you keep control of your costs. The cap applies to data roaming in Europe Zone 1 only, you can continue to data roam in ROW Zone 2 without a cap.
We'll send you free text alerts when you are 50%, 80% and 100% through the monthly spend cap when data roaming on any handheld or laptop device.
The exception is iPad because it has no SMS functionality, so if using an iPad you will be capped without advance text alerts unless you opt out. We are working on an email solution specifically for iPad customers which will be available in the autumn.
Once you reach 100% of the cap limit, an automatic data roam bar will be applied, and you will not be able to use any more data abroad for the remainder of your monthly billing cycle unless you opt out of the cap.

We've made it easy to keep track of costs when you go online abroad using mobile broadband.
The amount you pay will depend on the country you're visiting - and how much data you use.

You can use up to 50MB a day (midnight to midnight UK time) for £9.99 - and for £29.99 elsewhere in the world. 50mb is approximately 100 emails and 4 hours of browsing.

How much data will I use?
50MB is approximately 100 emails or 4 hours web browsing. Downloading music and movies, streaming TV programmes and file sharing will all use a lot more than 50MB of data.
